Rok po kruté a tragické nehodě se šestice kamarádek opět vydává na každoroční dobrodružnou výpravu - tentokrát do odlehlé části Appalačského pohoří, aby podnikly sestup do jeskynního systému. Představa, že se brzy stanou kořistí příšer, v dívkách probouzí ty nejprimitivnější pudy a nutí je dělat úplně vše, aby obstály v totálním boji s nepopsatelnou hrůzou, která útočí bez varování, znovu a znovu a znovu.
