The Russian Empire. The turn of the XIX and XX centuries. Thirteen-year-old nobleman and orphan Vanya Ogarev flees from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod, fleeing from assassins sent by his own uncle, who decided to take over the boy's inheritance.
