Drama Titus Andronicus, které patří k raným dílům slavného alžbětínského divadelního autora a zároveň je jeho první tragédií, inspirovalo debutující režisérku Julii Taymorovou k neobvyklému tvůrčímu zpracování. Příběh římského vojevůdce, který se vrací z války proti Gótům a jako zajatkyni si přivádí gótskou královnu Tamoru a její syny (nejstaršího z nich však nechá zabít, aby uctil památku vlastních synů, kteří v boji padli), je příběhem o krvavé pomstě. Režisérka jej zasadila do pozoruhodného stylového rámce, v němž se mísí nejrůznější estetické a kulturní vlivy, a do hlavních rolí obsadila dva skvělé herce - Anthonyho Hopkinse a Jessiku Langeovou.
