Üdvözöljük a jövőben! A jövőben, ahol az emberiséget egy kegyetlen háború biológiai fegyvere, egy szörnyű vírus tizedelte meg. Los Angeles most szél fútta, elhagyatott szellemváros, ahol a napsütötte utcákon csupán Neville furikázik járgányán, hogy túlélőkészletét feltöltse.
