One of the immediate consequences of the "temporary stay" of the Warsaw Pact troops on the territory of Czechoslovakia. The garrison of the Czechoslovak People's Army was suddenly transferred to Slovakia in the autumn of 1968, and a unit of the occupying Soviet Army was deployed in its place.
