När höggravida Parvaneh med familj flyttar in i radhuset mittemot och backar in i Oves brevlåda blir det upptakten till en komisk och hjärtevärmande historia om tilltufsade katter, oväntad vänskap och kärlek så stark att bara döden ser ut som den enda utvägen.
